EXPIRED REGISTRATION RECOVERY POLICY (ERRP) - DOMANENNAME
Notifications and Procedures for Expired Domain Recovery
Version: 1.0 Effective Date: 18th May 2026 Company: CRISALEO LIMITED ICANN Policy: Expired Registration Recovery Policy (ERRP)
---
1. PURPOSE
The Expired Registration Recovery Policy (ERRP) ensures that registrants are properly notified of upcoming domain expirations and have a clear path to recover domains that have recently expired.
---
2. EXPIRATION NOTIFICATIONS
Domanenname will send multiple notifications to the registrant's email address regarding the expiration of a domain:
- 1st Notification: Approximately 30 days before expiration.
- 2nd Notification: Approximately 7 days before expiration.
- Final Notification: Within 5 days after the domain has expired.
It is your responsibility to ensure that your contact email address is accurate and up-to-date to receive these critical notices.
---
3. THE EXPIRATION LIFECYCLE
3.1 Auto-Renew Grace Period
Most gTLDs (.com, .net, .org, etc.) enter an "Auto-Renew Grace Period" for 30-45 days after the official expiration date. During this time:
- The domain may stop functioning (website and email go offline).
- You can still renew the domain at the standard renewal rate.
- No additional recovery fees are typically applied.
3.2 Redemption Grace Period (RGP)
If the domain is not renewed during the initial grace period, it enters the Redemption Grace Period for approximately 30 days. During this time:
- The domain is deleted from the registry but can still be "redeemed."
- A significant recovery fee (Redemption Fee) is applied in addition to the standard renewal cost.
- This is your last chance to save the domain before it is released to the public.
3.3 Pending Delete
After the Redemption Period, the domain enters a "Pending Delete" status for 5 days. During this stage, the domain cannot be recovered, and it will be released for anyone to register.
---
4. RECOVERY FEES
- Standard Renewal: See our current price list.
- Redemption Fee: Typically ranges from £70 to £150 depending on the TLD. This fee is charged by the registry and passed through to the customer.
---
5. HOW TO RECOVER AN EXPIRED DOMAIN
- Log in to your Domanenname control panel.
- Navigate to the "Expired Domains" section.
- Select the domain and follow the prompts for renewal or redemption.
- If the domain is not visible, contact support immediately at [email protected].
